July update or, how New York has started to devour me…

Seems like this blog has been collecting nothing but dust, only to be disrupted by the occasional photo post from my phone. Ever since I got an iphone it’s been easier to post pictures, but harder to find time to do anything else (because I’m spending all of my time playing with this damn phone instead or writing blog posts!).

In all actuality a combination of work load, various side hustle aspirations, a bitter-sweet trip to Chicago, a move to Brooklyn and a trip to Philadelphia have all contributed to my blog inactivity. Work is no joke these past few months, with no sign of letting up through September. But that’s fine, I’m in New Work City and down for the grind. Bring it on.

Over a two week period I moved into my new place in Park Slope and it’s pretty dope. Chill living situation, a nice room that I painted a mellow, muted green color and most importantly, a quiet place in BK for me to hide and make music, video and internet things. That was a big reason I moved to Park Slope and not Williamsburg. Although that is considered the “artier” of the two neighborhoods, with my track record I would never be home long enough to actually get anything done. Less distractions and more creativity … that’s the motive.

Except more interesting things from me in the coming months … you will notice that I am writing an update in my blog for the first time in over a month on a Saturday night. This is because I’ve realized as a 9-to-5er, the weekend is my prime time for doing all of those things “I wish I was doing” instead of escaping into the bottom of a whiskey glass. Of course, I am going to be kicking it with my friends and exploring this wonderful borough, I’m more talking about a balance that allows for creative and “make shit” time.

And now, since so much time has gone by that I have little more specifics to offer, pictures totaling several thousand words:

Around the crib…a B&W photo of a drum and a cymbal I took some time back and a lamp that “burns” a flicker light bulb. It sets the tone.

Sometimes I find myself staring at things while on conference calls…this actually turned out quite well. Rich contrast. Me likey.

Apparently this is a dog, although I’m not convinced. Going to miss this guy, now that I no longer live with his owner.

BK Stand up. Graffiti off of the JMZ line.

View from my rooftop, Park Slope, Brooklyn

Stairway to heaven … AKA Le Meridien in downtown Philadelphia

Very good, sir. You found a building. Philly.

Oldest street in PA. Historical district in Old City … very nice.

Philly got flavor.

Crank that.

Philly’s mural game is way, way up.

The Amtrak station is quite impressive.

A picture of a picture (of some books with pictures).
